Individuality

We see children as individual personalities who we’d like to support in the development of their individual abilities. To assure this, we always take a look at the child’s current developmental stage.

Independence and Self-Determination

The child’s independence is the goal of our pedagogical work. We enable the children to act independently in their learning processes, we advance their active participation and provide the needed working conditions.

Competence in social contexts

We support children to get along in social contexts. We encourage them to realise their needs and interests and to stand up for them.

Social and emotional skills

We want to assist the children in developing high social and emotional skills. To get along with the social community, it is necessary that children understand their own emotions as well as the emotions of others.

Problem-solving thinking

When discovering the world, children have a variety of different questions. To animate their problem-solving thinking it’s not enough to answer these questions properly. Instead the children should be supported in finding the answers on their own. The children’s questions regarding the world – exciting, urgent questions – cannot be answered with a short reply. They are of importance and need to be regarded.

Learning

The one who likes to learn, learns better and more efficient. It’s our task to support the children’s natural thirst for knowledge and to animate their self-motivation to learn. To achieve that, we accompany the children in finding their own learning path. When children experience how they learn and what they have learned, they are able to look forward to all upcoming areas of knowledge.

Creative design

Creative work is an excellent way to deal actively and consciously with experiences made in the environment. Different techniques enable children to express and articulate their thoughts, interests, demands and needs in a nonverbal way.

Being on the same level – Pedagogues as tutors

The teachers of the KLAX school see themselves mainly as partners and competent tutors of the students. They consider the needs and interests of each child and orient their pedagogical work according to the level of the learning group.

Partner-like co-operation with parents

To achieve the best level of advancement, it is necessary that pedagogues and parents work closely together on the education of the child. That demands a lot from parents and pedagogues: Honest and open contact, active co-operation, regular conversations.
